Technology

Bennie the cat

I started writing software around 1996 using Borland Turbo Pascal, got my start in hardware fixing arcade games and pinball machines, wrangled big iron for a Fortune 500, and spent nearly a decade deep in the reactor core of the Internet helping to keep the lights on for a national ISP.

The philosophy that has gotten me through it all is that there are no absolutes in this game. There is no 'one size fits all' in life and certainly not in technology. While my specific opinions on technology often diverges wildly from the mainstream I try to approach each situation with an open mind and a minimum of preconceived notions of how I am going to solve the problem. 'Keep it simple, stupid' is also a pretty good mantra.

Below is a sampling of the systems that make up my personal infrastructure. In the dropdown above there is an archive of screenshots available for browsing as well as the git repository containing some software I've written.
